Wishes, doubts, ability

Subjunctive = the bare form (no गा)

Used for wishes, doubts and suggestions.

💬 Examples
शायद वह आए
śāyad vah āe
Maybe he'll come
📝 आए = subjunctive (no गा)
मैं क्या करूँ?
maiṃ kyā karūṃ?
What should I do?
📝 करूँ = deliberative subjunctive
Subjunctive after चाहना (want) + कि

'I want that you ...'.

💬 Examples
मैं चाहता हूँ कि तुम आओ
maiṃ chāhtā hūṃ ki tum āo
I want you to come
📝 कि + subjunctive आओ
वह चाहती है कि मैं पढ़ूँ
vah chāhtī hai ki maiṃ paṛhūṃ
She wants me to study
📝 Subjunctive after कि
सकना for ability ('can')

stem + सकना.

💬 Examples
मैं हिंदी बोल सकता हूँ
maiṃ hindī bol saktā hūṃ
I can speak Hindi
📝 बोल + सकना
क्या मैं अंदर आ सकता हूँ?
kyā maiṃ andar ā saktā hūṃ?
May I come in?
